When the Helpers need Help

Since 1942, the Civil Air Patrol’s Col. Mary S. Feik Composite Squadron, formally known as the Annapolis Composite Squadron, has met at Lee Airport in Edgewater, Maryland.  For 79 years, the squadron has been a part of the Edgewater and Annapolis communities providing emergency services, community outreach, and educational programs.  Additionally, the squadron has been a regular participant in the Annapolis Memorial Day Parade, the Annapolis Fourth of July Parade, the Annapolis Military Bowl Parade, the MRE Tug-of-War, and the Wreaths Across America event at the Annapolis National Cemetery.

Maryland Wing Wraps its 2021 Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony

November 13, 2021--- GRANITE, MD -- For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, approximately 200 Civil Air Patrol airmen converged on Columbia Md to attend Maryland Wing annual conference on November 5-7, 2021. During the conference, Maryland Wing kindly welcomed Brigadier General Regena Aye, Civil Air Patrol National Vice Commander; and Colonel Bruce Heinlein, Commander Civil Air Patrol Mid-Atlantic Region, as distinguished guests.

Granite cadets earn honors with national High-Altitude Balloon Challenge

October 8, 2021 - GRANITE, Md -- Granite Cadet Squadron placed in two categories in the national Civil Air Patrol High-Altitude Balloon Challenge (HABC) as results were announced October 6, 2021.  Nearly 140 squadrons around the nation participated in this months-long competition to send experiments to the edge of space to determine the effects of the journey.

Remembering September 11, 2001

September 11, 2021 – Granite, MD — Twenty years ago today, nineteen hijackers seized four commercial aircraft determined to bestow mass destruction in the United States.  Two of the four aircraft crashed into the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon, while the last into a Pennsylvania field after heroic passengers foiled the terrorists aboard.
