2024 Summer Pathfinder School
 

Maryland Wing, Civil Air Patrol is pleased to announce the 2024 Summer Pathfinder School.  The mission of the school is to provide the required training geared towards full qualification in an emergency services specialty.  The school will run the first week of August 6, 2024, at our Wing Headquarters in Granite, Md. However, the dates and times for specific courses may run only a portion of that time period.  Please read the course descriptions carefully.

Course Offerings

Ground Operations Student Packing List 

The following classes will be offered this year. (Please see the course descriptions page for information on course prerequisites and requirements.

Session 1

  • Basic Pathfinder July 30-Aug 1 Note this is an overnight activity
  • Pathfinder Team Leader July 30-Aug 1 (Ages 18+) Note this is an overnight activity.
  • Mission Scanner Ground School July 29th with flight days scheduled throughout the rest of the week.
  • Mission Pilot Ground School July 30th with flight days scheduled throughout the rest of the week.
  • Mission Observer Ground School July 31st with flight days scheduled throughout the rest of the week.
  • Aerial Photographer Ground School August 1st with flight days scheduled throughout the rest of the week.

Session 2 

  • Intermediate Pathfinder August 3-5 Note this is an overnight activity. Prerequisite - Basic Pathfinder or full GTM-3 Qualification.
  • Advanced Pathfinder August August 3-5 Note this is an overnight activity. Prerequisite - Intermediate Pathfinder or Full GTM 2 Qualification.
  • Pathfinder Medic August 3-5 Note this is an overnight activity. Prerequisite - Age 15 and Basic Pathfinder or full GTM-3 Qualification.
  • SUAS Technician August 5th - Prerequisite Age 15+
  • SUAS Pilot August 6th - Prerequisite Age 15+

Location

In-person classes will be held at the Maryland Wing Headquarters, 3085 Hernwood Rd. Granite, Md.

Fees

$50 per student, to be invoiced following registration.  Fee does not include meals.

Registration

A $50 Registration Fee will be invoiced following registration for each student. Registration Fee covers the cost of course materials, Pathfinder T-Shirt and Pathfinder Patch.

Required Forms: All forms must be submitted at check-in.
CAPF 60-81: Application for Special Activity with squadron commander approval (cadets under 18 years old must have parental signature)
CAPF 160: CAP Member Health History
CAPF 161: Emergency Information
